City of Pekin Residential Solid Waste Driver

The City of Pekin is hiring a Residential Solid Waste Driver for a normally scheduled shift of Monday Friday with regular hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The position requires a valid Illinois CDL, the ability to pass a pre-employment solid waste physical with a lift test, and drug test. The CDL position requires random drug testing as well. The City of Pekin has a Residency requirement within a 10-mile radius of corporate City limits within one year after the end of the probationary period. This is an optional union position under the Teamsters Solid Waste collective bargaining agreement with a starting rate of $25.21 per hour.

The position will be regularly scheduled for residential garbage pick up, but may fill in on recycling or yard waste if necessary.
