Utility Location Specialist

The Utility Location Specialist will locate City of Pekin utilities, sewer, storm & street lights and traffic signals under J.U.L.I.E. regulations & utility inspection services for construction projects for our Public Works Department. Other duties include data collection and asset verification utilizing GIS software and inventory tracking. The Utility Location Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the City's data is updated with new or more accurate data as a result of marking assignments and coordinate information with other divisions to maintain accurate information throughout Public Works.
Prefer a candidate with at least 2 years of experience in utility location services or public works maintenance, experience in the operations of utility locating equipment, construction and installation of underground utilities and utility locating techniques. Equivalent to the completion of 12th grade, supplemented by construction trade courses related to the installation and maintenance of sanitary & storm sewers and electical utility services is preferred.
