Waste Water Operator or Traineed

The City of Pekin is accepting resumes and applications for a full-time operator for the Waste Water Treatment Plant due to a promotion within the department. The position is a Teamsters bargaining unit position working M-F 7:00- 3:30 while training, but will be subject to change based on seven day work requirements at the plant.

Because a Waste Water License is a specialized license, the WWTP Supervisor may be willing to train the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be eager to learn, and have patience for the process of gaining the four levels of waste-water licenses. Our next Candidate may be any level of operator or trainee upon hire.

The position requires the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, pre-employment physical and drug test and requires a valid State of Illinois driver's license. The City of Pekin has a residency requirement within a 10-mile radius of corporate City Limits which must be met within one of the end of probation. The City of Pekin is a drug-free workplace.
